Alighiero e Boetti

Annemarie Sauzeau organized a 60-work survey of Alighiero e Boetti this summer for the Tornabuoni gallery in Paris; the catalog is listed at artbooks.com. 

In winter 2009-2010, Gladstone Gallery and the artist’s foundation organized the “first-ever retrospective of the artist’s Mappa series.”  The catalog, with essay by Jean-Christophe Ammann, appeared in June from JRP Ringier. The previous year, Achille Bonito Oliva organized a survey for MADRE in Naples, discussed by Luca Cerizza in Frieze and Mark Godfrey in Artforum. The catalog was published by Electa (Worldcat).

In 2008, Christopher G. Bennett published “Substantive Thoughts? The Early Work of Alighiero Boetti” in October 124, and Afterall Books published a volume by Cerizza in the “One Work” series. In 2003, Walther Koenig published Shaman-Showman, Sauzeau’s memoir (artbook.com; Worldcat). A 1999 exhibition at the Whitechapel was reviewed by Barry SchwabskyParkett 24 (June 1990) included texts by Jean-Christophe Ammann, Giovan Battista Salerno, Rainer Crone and David Moos, and Jean-Pierre Bordaz.
