Michael Snow

Last October, Afterall Books published Michael Snow: Wavelength by Elizabeth Legge in its “One Work” series (distributed by MIT).

Robert Enright, “The Lord of Missed Rules: An Interview with Michael Snow,” appeared in Border Crossings 26:2 (May 2007). In 2006, Jinhee Choi published “Apperception on Display: Structural Films and Philosophy” in a special issue of the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism on “Thinking through Cinema: Film as Philosophy.”

Thierry de Duve published “Michael Snow: the deictics of experience, and beyond” in Parachute 78 (April-June 1995), pp. 28-41, and in Cahiers du Musee National d’Art Moderne no. 50 (Winter 1994) p. 30-55 eliciting a seven-page “Lettre à Thierry de Duve” from Snow, which appeared in Cahiers du MNAM 53 (Autumn 1995), pp. 102-9.

“Balancing Eye and Mind: Michael Snow” is chapter 7 of William C. Wees, Light Moving in Time: Studies in the Visual Aesthetics of Avant-Garde Film (California, 1992). Annette Michelson. “Toward Snow (Part 1)” was published in Artforum 9 (June 1971): 30–37, and her “About Snow” in October 8 (Spring, 1979), pp. 111-125.
