Fostering strong scholarship and promoting collegiality within the vital field of contemporary art history.
Membership
SCAH serves members who work independently or who are affiliated with universities, museums, and foundations around the world.
The Society of Contemporary Art Historians has over two hundred members from universities, museums, and foundations across the world. Membership benefits include access to the association listserv and member directory, SCAH-exclusive programming, projects and gatherings through our robust Regional Groups, and networking opportunities at the College Art Association Annual Conference.
Benefits
Membership benefits include access to the organization’s Google Group listserv, networking and scholarship opportunities at the College Art Association Annual Conference, The Syllabus Project, Foreign Language Index (FLI), and year-round programming. Future funded initiatives include support for Regional Group gatherings, travel awards, and essay prizes.
Supporting members enjoy voting rights and have access to a private SCAH Google Drive folder for sharing resources.* They are also invited to the SCAH Business Meeting at the College Art Association Annual Conference.
The society also
- sponsors year-round programming, including guest speakers, roundtables, and workshops;
- organizes a weekly writing group;
- promotes member CFPs for the College Art Association Annual Conference on its Instagram and Facebook accounts;
- encourages the formation of Regional Groups with similar goals to that of the main organization;
- supports the creation and stewardship of recordings of previous SCAH-sponsored events through a private SCAH Google Drive folder.*
